Peacebuilding and women’s leadership are WPP’s institutional anchor.

Peacebuilding and women’s leadership are WPP’s institutional anchor. The organisation seeks to translate women’s informal roles in mediation, reconciliation and community resilience into recognised, resourced and accountable participation in formal and community-level processes.

WPP’s peacebuilding practice is participatory, conflict-sensitive and locally grounded. The organisation is strengthening its results evidence through documented partnerships, participation and inclusion data, outcome monitoring, learning products and verified examples of women’s influence in community and formal peacebuilding processes.

Our Capabilities

  • Women’s leadership and peacebuilding capacity development.

  • Support to women peacebuilders, mediators and women-led networks.

  • Community peace dialogues, consultations and reconciliation processes.

  • Inter-clan and intra-community mediation and dispute resolution.

  • Conflict prevention, early warning and early response mechanisms.

  • Women’s participation in peace negotiations, reconciliation delegations and governance forums.

  • Advocacy aligned with the Women, Peace and Security agenda, including UNSCR 1325 and related commitments.

  • Youth engagement, social cohesion and trust-building initiatives.

  • Psychosocial support and referral for conflict-affected populations, where relevant to programme design.
